PERSONAL. Mrs. .1. A. 11 a swell has returned from Eeilding. Miss V. Gribhle, of Auckland, is at present visiting her sister, Mrs. L. A. Robinson. The following officers of the local Girl Guide companies passed their warrant examination: Miss T. Gibson (captain), Mrs. C". Masters (lieutenant), Miss A. Gibbs (lieutenant), Miss D. Roberts (lieutenant). Mrs. T. E. Roberts and Miss D. Roberts left on Monday for a holiday visit to Wellington and the South Island.
Mrs. A. H. Hockell, of Wellington, is visiting, Rated for the wedding of her sister, Miss Alice Oakley, to Mr. L. Williams, of Wellington, on Wednesday, August- 1. Air." N. Hunger is at jn-esent spending a holiday in the Waikato district. SOCIAL AFTERNOON. The St. George’s (Anglican) Ladies’ Guild recently held a very enjoyable social afternoon in the schoolroom, .the hostesses being Masdames O. Gibson, T. White, J. Fish, and T. Nelson. During the afternoon musical items and songs afforded much pleasure, and an amusing competition was won by Airs, E. T. Adams. A dainty afternoon tea concluded a very bright afternoon,. COURSING 'CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the Pntcn-Cuursing Club was held recently, Air. .1. A. McKenna presiding. Mr. Farmer, manager of the V.C.
