CONCERT ON MONDAY
MRS. GOO-DSON’S FAR-WET,T, Appearance.
The booking to date for the Hawera Orchestral Society’s concert which takes place oil Monday next- in. the the Opera House, is proof of tlie popularity of this fine institution, which competent critics have declared would do credit to any city in New Zealand. The items already published '.show that, besides the classical, the papula- side is also catered for, and it is safe to say that these sixty instrumentalists will give a perform ancle that will delight everyone of t!he listeners. Mils. M. J. Goodson (soprano) will sing two very, tine numbers viz.— “Aria” and “Rondo” front Bellinis '•‘La Sonnambula,” for which the Societies’ conductor, M-v. H. O. A. Fox, has written a special orchestral accompaniment for sixty instruments, also, “Ocean Thou Mighty Monster” (Weber) Special interest attaches to these because it will be Mrs. Good son’s farewell appearance before leaving for Wellington. Air. W. H. Christie (baritone) of Wanganui has a- good reputation, and lie will sing “The Toreadors Song” (Bizet), and “Five and Twenty Fishermen” (Coleridge—Taylor), the aecomnaniments will be played by Al.i-ss Eilden Goodson and Air. Horatio Nelson. Seats may now be .reserved at Miss Blake’s shop.
