TARANAKI LAND BOARD.

THE MONTH’S WORK

The ordinary meeting of the Taranaki Land Board, was held' at New Plymouth on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, when there were present: Messrs. W. D. Armit (chairman), S. Blake, C. J. Kyan, N. R. Cleland, and H. A. Foreman.

The following applicataions for land were approved: Mrs. E. Watts, Section 54, Block X, Opunake S.D.; G. L. Brett, Section 355, Huatoki Settlement.

The application by Mr. S. H. Jenkins for Section 2 and 7, Block XII, Omona S.D., and Section 1, Block XVI, Omona S.D., was refused, the matter to be- reviewed in three months.

The following sub-lease' was approvedl: Part Section 23, Block XV, Evaupokonui S.D., B. Ryan to J. Cottrell. The application to transfer Section 7, Block 11, Rangi S.D., from A. A. Oliver to Mrs. E. M. Salter was deferred.

Fifty-three applications under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act were considered, and of these five applications for stock and improvement advances were recommended and two refused; seven applications to transfer were recommended, one deferred, and one refused; four applications for exemption from residence were recommended.
