(By Telegrart— Association.) AUCKLAND; July 27. Mr. Hunt, S.'M;., gave his decision that despite the exemption granted by the Arbitration Court, which entitled certain small shopkeepers to i he open until 8 p.m. four mights in the week 'or the sale of smoking requisites, they were bound by the requisition of the tobacconists which subsequently came into force, requiring all shops selling smoking requisites to close at 7 p.m. Mr. Hunt, held that this interpretation of the section by the Labour Department was correct. He viewed the proceedings as a test case, and recorded a conviction without penalty on two shopkeepers.
