APPEAL, DI SMISS ED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 26. Robert William Allen, aged 18, who was sentenced to two years at the Borstal Institute on. charges of-.receiving stolen goods, applied to the Magistrate M;. M.ci.yley, this morning for a rehearing. He allleiged he had been urged to plead guilty previously by a. detective, when he was really innocent. Detective Sergeant Young said he strongly resented the allegations. It wais entirely unfounded. The boy had been well treated by the detective staff. After hearing the evidence the Bench 'dismissed the application saying the boy had received fair treatment and had received go injury whatever.
