OTHER GAMES IN SENIOR GRADE
Though another series in the Taranaki first grade Rugby game's have yet to he played, Saturday’s play decided thq championships in both divisions. By defeating Kaponga, the Okaiawa Club took the southern title for the third year in succession. In the north the strong position formerly established by Stratford allowed the Red and Blacks to retain the championship despite the draw to which they were held by Tukapa, This was the first game this season in which the Shield holders have failed to register a win. The respective runners-up positions are also clear, Opunake heading the second rung on the south ladder and Inglewood taking that place in the north. The day’s play, together with the win registered by Patea against Athletic on Wednesday, leaves the positions of the teams as follow:
