The selector is to be . congratulated •on Ins choice of the Taranaki team to play for the Norden Cup. All but one selection seems to be correct. Tko sele tiou referred to is the left wing. It seems a mistake to choose a right wing to play on the left wing, and it would be better to pick an inside left to ,til! this place if there is no left wing good’enough to be included. Howeve", selecting a team is a hard lob, and hats should lie taken off to Air. Davison. “Sticks” wishes the team every success, and hopes they will come back with the cup. The team selected is: Bennett. Foreman. Vowless, Scown, • Champion, V. Betts. Bennie, Pennington, Tnvin, D avios, Warner: emergencies. Thompson (bn kb S. Betts (forward). HAWERA TEAMS. On Wednesday last Hawera A met Haivera B and the A’s proved too good ior the lyoyis. This was not a good, game, there being too much whistle. For the winners. Vowless, Cham- \ pion. Wilton, Lay, and Palmer all , played veil. 1 For the losers Broun, Ryan, Sage, and Derbyshire were the best. FORM AGAINST AIANGATOKI. 'lhe recent match between Mangatoia and Hawera. at Man'gatoki resulted in a win for Manga toki by two goals to one. A fail’ indication of the game would have been a draw. Alangaloki play Guy at centre half. This was a big factor in Hawera’s downfall. , \\ arner, at right wing, couldn’t do anythin" right, and did not play up to standard.
Carter, at inside right, was in better form, and played well. .Wilton, at centre forward, did not play as well as usual, the vet ground Doubling him. Lay, at inside left, did not play up to-form, but shot a good goal. AlcFadyen. at- left wing,, played well at times, and gave Lay a. nice pass to score a- good goal. Champion, at centre half, played a good game. On this game alone it would have been hard to beat him for his position in the reps. Simons, at left half, played a good game.
Carter, at right- half, played his host game to date. Vowless, at left full-back, played bis usual good game. Jackson played bis best game of the season. Palmer played well in goal.
