(From Our Own Correspondent.) e ■ EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE. The -second of a series of euchre parties ami dances, held in the town, in aid of "funds for the school library, was again very successful, there being over a hundred players present. The first prizes, donated by Messrs GalloAvay and Sons, were Avon by Mrs F. Atkin .and Air J. Campbell and the second prizes, donated by Air P. Linn, Avcre won by Airs Bennett and Mr PaA'idson. The consolation prizes went to Afi&s Sanson and Air D l . Walden. A hearty A r ote of thanks was accorded the donors of the prizes. The committee owe its thanks to Air O. J. Preston for a handsome ladies’ points prize'for the season. At the conclusion of the euchre a dainty supper was handed round by an energetic committee of ladies and gentlemen, under the supervision of their popular chairman, Mr A. Spratt. The hall was then cleared for dancing which was AA-ell patronised by the young folk, the music being supplied by Airs Bennet. The next of this series of euchre will be held in tAvo weeks time. The committee states that in the event of any person who played in this tournament being unable to'attend next time, he or she may send a substitute to play for the points prize providing the chairman is notified before the tournament commences.
