RECORD ENTRIES

There has been a remarkable increase in the total of the entries for the otrat ford n inter Show this year, being a third more than last year. The sliow promises to Le very sucLessiul. The progress made is demonstrated by the figures for the last lour years, m X 925 there were no exhibits and side snows and omy 5i3 entries in the poultry division. . in 1925 there were xO exhibits and side shows and 733 other entries. Next year the exhibits and .side shows hacl increased to 8() and the entries i totalled 1811. Ihis the various trade displays, exhibits and side i shows number 89, and the entries constitute a record of 2421. Tne actual encl .sed show space has been increased to ovqOUi) square feet, and provision has been made for the closing of Miranda Street, at the rear of the show buildings, where the merry-go-round, chair-o-plane, Ferris wheel, etc., will be established. The opening ceremony will be perlormed bv the Hoii. O. J. Haw ken. Minister, *of Agriculture, to-morrow e.ening, but the show will be open ii'om 2 p.m. , On Thursday there will be the Rugby attraction Waikato v. Taranaki, and a schools match, Hawera v. Stratford. Friday will be children’s day, and Saturday' will see the show open continuouslv, and there will be a football match, Tainui v. Whanga, and a boyscout competition. There are special railway excursion fares from Hawera and New Pi.ymoutn.
