HAWERA. 5 V. CELTIC 2. The Hu'Wera-Celtie game, postponed from the previous week owing to bad weather, was played on King .Edward Park oil Saturday last, both sides being at full, strength. Celtic wan the toss and Mokmey decided to play with ithe ®ur 'behind the team. His choice proved of value, as Celtic scored twice in the first ton minutes of the game- per 'medium of Moloney and Frairupton. Pettett played a sterling game in goal for Celtic, ■but just before half-time Galloway scored for Hawera from a rebound after Alongan had hit the upright with a. great shot. Celtic 2, Hawera 1. Immediately afterwards Celtic were awarded a penalty which proved fruitless, the bail' going well wide of the goal. At hailf-time the score was unaltered.

Upon resuming Hawera took charge iof the game and after several shot 1 ® at goal Galloway ■equalised. The game was* fairly fast after this, both sides striving for the' winning goal, -which came to Hawera from Alongan, who beat Pettett with a beauty. Hawera 3, Celtic 2. Celtic tried: hard to equalise amid Spice (jun.) saved good shots from Aloiouey and Thorpe. Bear© played his usual defensive game amid A. Spieo partnered him well. With five minuteis to go Celtic made the mistake of playing six forward's, Oorkiilll going up, and thus weakened their defence.
