A statement recently appeared in the Press that a British , firm had suggested to a Dunedin business man an ingenious method by which the Customs authorities could be defrauded by understating the value, of goods imported on the cash on delivery basis. Investigating the matter Mr. Larnbie, British Deputy Trade Commissioner, has ascertained that the document in question was an unsigned, printed, circular rroni an Indian arm, and that the occurrence does not therefore reflect adversely upon the high standard of commercial morality maintained by British manufacturers and exporters.
