CROQUET.
NEW CLUB FORMED
FOR HAWERA LAWNS
There was a good attendance last night of members of the Hawera Croquet Club', hitherto worked in conjunction with the Hawera Tennis Club, -do consider the formation of a separate club, and after 'a. lull and close discussion it was decided to iorm a new club, and the name selected was Jvia Ora (.Hawera). ft was also decided to Im> e the club incorporated. Hr. G. J. Bay ley, who took the chair, was unanimously elected fiist president. Other officers elected were: vice-president, iMlrs. L. J. Bull; boil, secretary and treasurer, Mrs. M. _ Dowling; committee, Mesdames Harrop, Pacey, Evans, Milroy, and \v. £VI. 'Che question of rules was considered and a set of rules for the club agreed upon. . j \ hearty vote of thanks was carried unanimously to Mr. Baylev for all the valuable work done by him for croquet in general and for the formation of the new club. . ~ Much enthusiasm was shown, and it was agreed that the prospects for the progress of the game in Hawera looked very bright.
