TARANAKI FIXTURES
WELLINGTON TO PLAY AT HAWERA. The venue of Taranaki representative matches was arranged, last nigh.t by the Taranaki Rugby Union as follows:. July 4 —v. Wellington, at Hawera. July 12—x'. Waikato, at Stratford. August B—v.8 —v. Marlborough, at Hawera. > August 11 —v. Hawke’s Bay, at New Plyn*outh. August 18—v. Wanganui, at New Plymouth. September 18 —v. Manawhenua, at New Plymouth. It was resolved to play the North v. South primary schools’ match as a curtain-raiser to the Wellington-Tara-naki match at Hawera, and the Hawera v. Stratford Technical High School match as a curtain-raiser to the Taranaki-Waikato match at Stratford. On Saturday, June 30 (show week) the club match Opuriake v. Hawera will be played prior to the New Plymouth High School-Wan ganui Technical College game. A proposal that the Wanganui-Tara-naki senior representative fixture should he played on that day at Hawera. was defeated, members _ stating that it would entail postponing the competition fixtures and delaying the final to a date which would bo too late for some of the players.
