The herd has been heavily culled each year and eleven hei.frs put in at the start of last season. Ten cows were cut out recently and sold through the store pens in our Strtaiford Yards. Two-thirds of the herd arc Jerseys, the balance being Jersey, Shorthorn and Holstein cross. The only reason for selling is that Mr Hobson has suffered .ill-health for some time and is compelled to give up dairying.

Shorthorn'S; 14 of the herd calve in July, and the bulk in August, with a few in September. Pedigree Jersey bulls have been used, and most of the herd are dehorn ed 31 wearier Jersey heifers 1 2-year pedigree Jersey bull .1 good farm horses 12 milk cans 1 s.f. R. and G. plough 1 almost, new 5-cow Ridel milking plant with 21 h.p. Lister engine (slight reserve) Mr Joyce is leaving the district and is therefore submitting everything with the exception of the milking plant for sale ENTIRELY WITHOUT RESERVE The, herd is one of the best that.will he offered for sale in Taranaki this year for the cows show excellent quality and dairying ability, are young, and will give good results wherever taken to. It will be seen that the herd is almost, entirely high grade Jerseys and furthermore they are all due to calve early. Mr Joyce has been dairying for many years, and ho has always made a point of milking only good cattle, consequently this sale is one that, should interest dairymen who are wanting real genuine cows.
