A happy interlude during the evening was a presentation to one of the members, Mr. P. Petersen. Dr. Buist, in making the presentation, referred to the recipient’s great assistance to the club, mentioning the fact that Mr. Petersen was one of the founders of the. club and had been a. committeeman since its inception and was still one of its- keenest members. Sir. Petersen was then presented with a. travelling rug. During the evening a match was fired between teams representing the lady vice-president (Mrs. S. R. Veitch) and the men’s vice-president (Mr. Booth), the latter team winning by a margin of 33 points. A match for a trophy donated by Mr. S. J.
