MARRIED IN PRISON.
GOVERNOR AS BEST MAN. A curious ceremony tcok place in Turin, Italy, a lew weeks ago, when a prisoner named Guiseppi Grana was mariied before starting Ins sentence ot .our years' imprisonment ior theft. Gratia was engaged to a shop girl, aged 2J. who appeared, neatly dressed, accompanied by two girl friends. She had not seen her lover jor a whole ..ear, as during that time- ho was awaiting trial. The Podesta of Turin, Count Broxzolo, personally officiated, and went to the prison with two clerks from the Town Hall, who carried tiie marriage register. The podesta put on his tn(o.our sash, -as if lie were officiating in the Town Hail. Three warders acted as witnesses, and the governor ol the prison acted as best man. The bridegroom was allowed to put on a dark suit, instead of the prison garb, and looked well. He simply shook hands with the -bride, as if be had seen her only the evening before. ( ount- Drozxolo made a little speech, suitable to the occasion, wishing both great happiness in their future married life, which is somewhat distant, as t-lio i ride-groom has still three years to serve.
