Captain Kingsfoi;d Smith announces that the Southeriv“Cross will be overhauled after the Melbourne visit, and the New Zealand trip will be undertaken within a. few weeks. He heartily appreciated New Zealand’s cabled good wishes. ENTERTAINED BY N.S.W GOVERNMENT. SYDNEY”, June 12. The New South Wales Government tendered a luncheon to Captain Kings-ford-Smith and his crew to-day. The streets were lined with cheering crowds as the party passed along from Queen’s Square to the Hotel. Australia.' Captain Kingsford-Smith and his three comrades, with Captain Smith’s mother and Mm'S. Ulm, depart for Melbourne to-morrow. The two Americans, Mr. Warner and Captain Lyon, decline to accept any money subscribed on their behalf in Australia, saying they will receive sufficient monetary recognition when they return to America. Received 9.50 a.in. to-dav. SYDNEY, June 13. Mr Lebbeus Hordern has donated a cheque for £SOOO to, the Pacific fliers, bringing the aggregate qf all funds to date to about £21,000.
