GOVERNOR-GENERAL’S VISIT.

ELTHAM ARRANGEMENTS. The following arrangement® in connection with the Governor-General’s visit to Eltham to-morrow have been approved:— Ciiivic reception at the Town Hail alb 11 o’clock.

Inspect returned soldiers and Girl Guides after the reception. A short motor drive before lunch.

Visit Public School at 2 o’clock. All schools in the vicinity of Eltham have been invited, to assemble at the school. Yii'lt to box factory at 2.30 p.m. ' (xi visit to the dairy factory at 3 o’clock has been cancelled, owing to t-hp dairy factory not operating on that day. 3.30 p.m.—Visit to Boys’ Home and inspect. 4 run.—After non tea.

His Excel:enooy has requested that no functions be arranged for the evening. Business premises will be closed at 10 a..m.

The following letter has been received bv the Mayor (Mr I. J. Bridger) from the Hon. O. J. Hawken (Minister for Agriculture): —“Mrs Hawken. joins me in thanking you for invitation to the civic reception to his Excellency oil the 14th inst. We both wish very much that we could ,be present, but regret that Cabinet meetings and fruitgrowers annual conference, which I am really committed to open and .attend to-mor-row, will prevent mv (leaving Wellington in time for the civic reception, on Thursday morning. I would he obliged if you will' convey the regrets of Mrs Hawken and myself that we are unable to be ait the reception .and our best, wishes that his' Excellency will enjoy his stay in Eltham. For your information, we will be in Eltham on Saturday next. ’ ’
