FIRES.
HOUSE DAMAGED AT NAPIER. (HS TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION ' NAPIER, June 11. A fire, the origin of which is a mystery, completely gutted the ■ front portion of a modern bungalow in Lincoln Koacl, Napier, owned aud occupied by Mr. \V. Mawson, and did much damage at the rear, shortly after eight o’clock this evening. Two front bedrooms were badly gutted, and a sitting room and the kitchen at the rear were more or less damaged hy smoke and water.
Insurance on the furniture was £2BO in the Royal Office, and the house was covered in the same office, but the amount is not ascertainable. A BLAZE AT STRATFORD. STRATFORD, June 12. An unoccupied 10-roomed house in Regan Street was totally destroyed by fire about two o’clock this morning. The Fire Brigade was powerless to save, the building when they, arrived.
