Coates has sent the following message to the Frame .uinik-cer of the Commonwealth: — ‘•.New Zealand desires to be the first to congratulate Australia upon the wonderful feat successfully accomplished by her intrepid sons and their companions in pioneering the air route aci:o;S(i the vast expanse of the mighty Pacific Ocean. The Government and people of this Dominion join with the Commonwealth in rejoicing that this onuei i.il conquest has been achieved •under the leadership of two gallant Australians. Remembering our comradeship in arms of Anzae days and other close associations' as members of the :re.i,t Biitish family beneath the. Southern Cross. New Zealand Is particularly proud and pleased that this epoe-ni.ak-mjr flight had he on achieved by her kinsmen on the. other iside of the Tasman Sea,” The following message has been sent to Captain Kingsford-Sinifch -. ‘‘All citizens of New Zealand join with the Government in expressing to you and your gallant comrades our warmest felicitations upon the (successful termination of vour splendid achievement. Tiho Secretary of the General Post Office reports: The following message from the Southern (Cross was picked up by a Wellington radio station at 11 a.in.: ‘ hSorry late arrival at Brisbane; last night ’s storm blew us so far off the coast that, the land first sighted was south of BalUna; we’re on our way up now, Ulm. ’"’

LANDED AT 10.13 A.M. WELLINGTON, June 9. The Secretary of the General Post Office received the following: message from Awanni radio station at 11.41 from Brisbane radio: "’Plane now is nearly 'overhead, going strongly. The next- message stated: "10.13: Australian time, Southern Cross has landed."
