MANAIA TOWN BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Manaia Town Board was held on Thursday evening, the following members being present : Comuaisisioneins N. C. Innes (chair), J. A. G. Cosgrove, J. Hickey, V. H. Hobday, and H. Mead. Apology for absence was received rom Com. E. J. Massey. Deputation.—Mr It. Franklin, on behalf of Rev. Orchard and himself, waited on the board and asked for the removal of trees qn Hassard Street, as at present their properties were rendered cold and damp through the trees. The matter was refererd to the works committee for a report at the next ingA letter was received from Jeromson Bros, asking for permission to erect a kerbside pump.—Granted. It was resolved to sue forthwith for outstanding rates. The matter of effecting repairs in the domain was left in the hands of the chairman, Commissioners Hickey and Mead. The clerk reported that the receipts for the month were £204 2s 6d. Accounts amounting to. £156 4s 8d were passed for payment.
