INTERNATIONAL LABOUR.

DEADLOCK AT CONFERENCE. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH -COPYRIGHT.) (“TIMES” CABLES.) LONDON, June 7. The Geneva correspondent of “The Times” reports that Mr. Bevin, the British workers’ delegate at tlie Labour conference, secured the passage- of an -amendment raising questions such as the conditions of gangways and lighting, upon which the employers refused to vote. Mr. Bevin was conciliatory, and suggested the formation of an advisory commission of the' dock authorities, shipowners and workers to- prepare a project for the convention committee. He rejected the employers’ recommendation referring the question to a joint- maritime committee, whereupon the employers’ representatives walked out.
