Sir, —I notice the headmaster of the Hawera School in last night’s "(Star” denies " Rational V’ statement that some of the boy pupils have been, employed to c'arry firewood to his house. Well, though L generally refrain from making public in the Press grievances of this sort, which are perhaps just (the result of thoughtlessness, I may say that a similar experience to that related by "Rational” fell .to the lot of a member of my family. It is not. so much the, physical exertion entailed bv this work that is objected to as the fact that the boy’s clothes afterwards are badly stained by pine gum This has caused his mother a good deal of annoyance.
