BOY SCOUTS’ RALLY.
AT KING EDWARD PARK. ANNUAL competitions. Boy Scouts from atl parts of 'South Taranaki attended the rally at King Edward Park yesterday when the annual sports and competitions were held. The targe programme of events was of an interesting nature, and the manv novel items were a surprise and an education to the large number of onlookers, who, in the majority of cases, were not prepared to witness such proficiency; as -shown by the boys. The various competitions were carried out with iinac'hinc-li'ke precision, and all participants being in regulation uniform, the proceeding’s were most picturesque. The officials responsible for -the excellent, management of the day’s programme were: Mr. A. Iv. Fyson (marshall) and Scoutmasters Oowie, Pauling, Clark, and Payne. All the events were competed for in patrols of four with a patrol leader. Cubs from -the Harvera and •Mokoia Scout's, under Scoutmaster Hitchcock, also gave several hakhs, and, although they did not compete in any of 'the tournaments, they spent a most enjoyable dav in games, etc. The Hawk Patrol (Manaia) won the Ollerensh'aw -Cup (at present held by the Wolf Patrol (Normanby) with 37 points, Lion (Patea) were second, with 26 points, Bull ('Mokoia) -third with 22 points, and Wolf (Normanby) fourth with 20 points. The following are the results of the various competitions, with the number of points gained 'by each -troop:— lIAKA (In Maori). Hawk (iM'aiiala) 7pts. 1, Bull (Manaia) lipts. 2. Wolf (Normanby) 3pts. 3. AMBULANCE COMPETITION. Lion (Patea) 7pts. 1, Bull (Mokoia) and Boaver (Hawera) 4pts. each 2. SIGNALLING. Morepork (Mok'oia) 7pts. 1, Hawk (Manaia) opts. 3, Beaver (Ilawer’a) 3pts. 3. COMPASS READING. Hawk (Manaia) 7pts. 1, ‘Morepork (Mokoia) and Lion (Patea) 4 each 2. PHYSICAL DRILL.
