BRILLIANT GAMES

GREAT DISPLAYS IN FINALS.

Received 2.35 p.m. to-day. PARIS, June 4. The Cochet-Lacoste matches produced almost super-human tennis The first set went to Lacoste, who thereafter .fell away from top form and in the last set showed signs' of tiring, indicating that he has not fully recovered from his recent illness Cochet played as if inspired, and was superb alike, in driving, finding corners and ‘sidelines, and in volleys crisply and accurately He took five games running in tbe third set Lacoste fought desperately in the fourth set, hut did not attain noiunal high pace There were many breathless moments. Cochet was six times iat match point in the lastgame. The Wills-Bennett match lasted- 50 minutes. The English girl was a great trier and tactician-, and made Miss Wills work throughout, but the latter’s superior play and length carried the day. The score rather flatter# MissWills.
