SOCCER.

AUROA v. HAWERA

Auroa turned out in full force, but Hawera failed to put in an appearance, Auroa therefore winning by default. CELTIC v. STRATFORD. Celtic and Stratford met at Hawera. Stratford won the toss and Celtic kicked off against the wind. For the first twenty minutes Stratford crowded Hawera in their own half, to finish by scoring. After the kick-off the Celtic players played well up to the Stratford goal, only for Brown to clear the ball. Stratford then had another run, and Baker scored. Half-time score 2 —o. A quarter of an hour after the restart, Celtic got away for J. 'Moloney to score. From then till the end of the game play was very even, and fulltime came with the score 2 —l in Stratford’s favour. Mr. W. Barker was referee.
