MANY NEW FACES.
IN FRENCH CHAMBER OE DEPUTIES. THE OPENING SESSION. (UNITED CKES3 ASSOCIATION—BY gLECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.! (AUSTRALIAN PRESS ASSOCIATION.) PARIS, June 2. M. Briand, looking pale and thin, was present when the new Chamber of Deputies assembled. The proceedings were very brief, consisting merely of a speech by the “Father of the Chamber,” M’ Sibille, who is over 80 years of age, and who -occupied the Presidential chair until the President was elected. He stressed the importance of the continuation of national unity. The House presented a fresh aspect with’half the old members gone, but there is little change in the groups. It is regarded as practically certain that M. Lonelier will succeed M. Fallieres in the Cabinet, following tiie latter’s defeat- at the elections.
