SHOE DAY IN HAWERA. A GOOD MORNING. The appeal for help to the funds of the Hawera. Plunked Society by means of a shop day to-day drew a lot of assistance, and the committee had a busy time all the mlorning and early afternoon. Mrs M. J. Goodson as president, Mrs R. Tait hon. treasurer, and Mrs W. Crompton hon. secretary, and they with their energetic committee, were responsible for arrangements that ensured success. They operated in the new buildings in Union Street, next to Messrs McGruer, Bone and Co., and had a varied assortment of goods, produce, flowers, vegetables, etc., and did good business.
