This in itself was been very awkward, but is now impossible on aoount of the cold, and an extra room is desperately needed. The work in Standard VII. is continuing, and is proving very useful. An introduction to commercial subjects is given, and 10 children take advantage of this tuition. EUCHRE AND DANCE. A very successful euchre party and dance organised by the Tahora School Committee was held: in the local hall on Friday. 25th. An unusualy large crowd responded to enjoy a. good! programme. The euchre tables were, well filled, prize-winners being Mrs. R. Rae and Mr. J. Üblenberg. Six couples took the floor for .the open waltzing competition, the decision of the judge (Mr. L. Parsons) giving first honours to Mr. W. Campbell and Mrs. J. Renwick. with Mr.” T. Barriba.l and! Mrs. T. O’Carroll runners-up. The balloon dance was won by Mr. and Mrs. W. Opai. Very valuable prizes were given in all cases. A beautiful white xylonite lady’s hand mirror, which was. disposed of in conjunction with _ the dance, was -won by Mr. T. Wipiti.
