The loss of magazines through the action of unserupuMiis visitors ito the Hawel-a. Puplie Library was referred to o.y the chairman cf ithe committee (Mir W. G. Strange) in conversation with a '‘Havera Star” reporter yesterday, and Mr Strange intimated that proceedings would be talcen against persons so detected. “The committee is endeavouring, to provide for the public the best possible i selection of good magazines for free ending in the library, and is astounded that some person or persons should d'cop to steal five or six magazines a month,” said Mr Strange. “The magazines are the prcperty of the public, and any information 'ending to the discovery of persons responsible for wrongful removal would be appreciated.” Mr, Strange .also referred to ithe inMoasing membership of the library subscribers and the efforts taken tiy the committee to cater for popular demands. New books were constantly "being se•uivd and during the month of May ".fit new volumes had been added to the library.
