TREATMENT OF CONSUMPTIVES

The director and deputy-director of hospitals, Drs Valintine and Dr. Watt, leave by tho ferry steamer for the south to-night to attend the inquiry at Christchurch in connection with the treatment of consumptives in New Zealand.
THE UNITED ORGANISATION. WANGANUI, June 1. Mr. W. A. Veitch, leader of the Liberal section of the united organisation, returned to Wanganui last evening from a visit to Wellington, where lie had been in consultation with members of the' executive of the organisation. He expressed himself as being thoroughly satisfied with the rapid development- of the organsation as a. result of Mr. Davy’s vigorous work as organiser. Mr. Veitch was particularly pleased to note the number of influential Liberals who had definitely joined up, and also with the high standing and character of the selected candidates generally. The policy of the organisation would he available to the public in ample time, and would contain such practical remedies for existing evils that it is certain to appeal to the common sense of the great mass of the people.
