Sixty divorce oases aire occupying: the attention of two judges of the Supreme Court.'• ■ , •" The tragedy at Tally, Queensland, on September 20, 1927. was recalled by the case in which Donald McPherson petitioned for a decree nisi against Amy Wilihelmcma Sarah Banks McPherson, on the ground of misconduct with Dennis John Moynihan, formerly of AuckCounsel for the petitioner said that Mrs McPherson deserted her husband in January, 1927, went to Australia with Moynihan and lived w:nth linn at I n ly, and on October 21 1927. stood her trial on .a charge of wilfully murdering him. He was shot through the body with a sporting gun. Self-defence was pleaded, and, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty. Mrs McPherson hacl acknowledged her misconduct with Moynihan. ‘The petitioner was granted a decree nisi , and the; custody of the two children now in his charge.
