Frank Booth, aged five yeans, son of Arthur Booth, a settler of Kaitawa, was admitted to the public hospital m an unconscious, condition last night. He fell from, a pony at his father s farm when riding the animal. The boy was very badly bruised, but recovered consciousness later. His sister who was also riding the animal, fell oil and was stunned.
BIX MONTHS’ IMPRISONMENT. WELLINGTON, May 25. Frederick Hunt Hardgraye, a rT” 29 a carpenter, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to-day to the theft of a gold chain and locket valued at £6. ■ He was sentenced to six months imprisonment. He was ordered to be detained in a Borstal institute i-oi three years. Prisoner bad been previously' in a Borstal institute for theft. BODY FOUND ON RIVER BANK. BLENHEIM, Mav 24. At. Dillon’s Point this morning the bodv of Harrv Ferdinand Fnntour Huddlestone, aged 63, was discovered on the river bank bv bis wife, shot in the head He had left the house a few minutes previously to bring in the cows, and ori failing to appear his wife km robed’ and made the t ragic discovery.
