A, total eclipse of the moon will occur on the night of Sunday, 3rd June, continuing into the early morning. The phases and times are as follows: —3rd, 8.35 p.m., moon enters penumbra; 9.iS p.m., moon enters umbra (shadow proper); 11.1 p.m., total phase begins; 4th, 12.18 n.m., total phase ends; 1.32 a.m., moon leave umbra; 2.45 a.m., moon leaves penumbra. A Press Association message from Carterton reports the sudden death yesterday afternoon of Mr. William Arthur Kitchen, aged 65 years. The deceased, had been a> resident of Carterton’for 35 years, for most of which time lie was manger of the drapery department of the W.F.C.A. He was a Justice of the'Peace, and took an active interest in all matters promoted for the welfare of the town. He leaves a widow and a son. He had been ill from heart trouble for some years.
