MOTORIST FINED £lO. [BY TELEGRAPH - PRESS ASSOCIATION.] HOKITiKA, May 24. Following a collision between . two motor cars on Araliura Road at five o'clock last evening, William Harold Shaw, a commercial traveller appeared nr the Magistrate’s Court to-day and was eharged with being intoxicated while in charge of a car. The evidence of the police showed that the collision occurred on a 24-feet .oad, in spite of the efforts of the other driver,, the defendant’s car swinging across almost at right angles into the other car, which was carrying a team of hockey girls. Both cars were badly smashed about the front wheels, mudguards, and running '•cards, but none of the occupants were injured. The defendant was fined £lO and costs. Application for the suppression of the name was refused.
