Oabinet’s downfal lis due to the decision of Yenizelos to resume the leadership of the Liberals, two, sections of which represented the old Ministry. Consequently reconstruction is necessary. Tiie retiring War Minister, M. Mazarkis, denies that any militaristic coup is afoot. Considerable opposition to Yenizelos is reported in military and republican circles, the latter asserting that in the absence of formidable opposition Yeni-zelos,-will establish a dictatorship.

YENIZELOS’S RETURN. MAY NOT PROMOTE TRANQUILITY. ("TIMES” CABLES. LONDON, May 23. “The Times,” in an editorial, says the news of M. Yenizelos’s return to politics is received here with mixed reelings of gratitude for his services to the Allies in the great War, while admiration for his gifts of diplomatic skill must predispose us to favourable opinion. Yet there is no evidence that he will promote internal serial tranquility. M. Yenizelos recently asserted that he had no intention ot returning to -he political fray except to save his country from a military dictatorship, expressing the opinion that any attempt to overthrow the Government would be a national disaster, hut his opinions on current politics are increasingly quoted in the Athens newspapers.
