PERSONAL. Mr. A. Huston returned' to Cliristcluuoli on .Saturday. Mr. G. Geary is at present laid up with an attack of pleurisy. Misses C. Lavfry and E. Paterson attended the teachers’ refresher course iu Wanganui last week. Mr. E. F. Hemingway was elected a vice-president of the Wanganui Centre of the St. John Ambulance Association at the iccent annual meeting. SPECIAL ANNUAL MEETING. A special annual meeting of the committee of the Palca Girl Guides’ Association was held on Friday last, Mrs. P. S. Finlayson presiding over a full attendance of members. with the exception of Mrs. Naismith, from whom an apology was received. The business transacted was to make arrangements in connection with (he first birthday party of the Pittea companies on May 20. The secretary (Miss W. Hemingway) reported that Mrs. Naismith had offered to supply the fruit salad for the Brownies at the party, and also that permission, had' been given to use St. George’s Sunday School on that occasion and: that the fee to be charged would he considered by the vestry at it* next meeting. Tt was decided that as many of the committee- as possible should l meet in the Sunday school next' Friday, at 2.30 n.m., and also on Saturday to decorate the room and arrange the tables.
