lIAWERA ROVERS 5 v. PIHAMA 3

At Pihama on Saturday Hawera Rovers defeated the home side by five goals to three after a strenuous game. The players were hampered by the grass being too long. For the Hawera side all played a good game throughout. M. C,jain, in goal, showed splendid footwork, while among the forwards ’G. Mc’Glashan had her eye in, shooting four goals, M. Langford being responsible for the fifth.

For the 'Pihama ladies B. Donaghy shone throughout the game as being the best player on the ground. With more play this young lady will be capable of taking higher honours on the playing field. Others who played well on the home side were tM. Conaglen, J. Forsyth, and *S. Forsyth. B. Donaghy .scored two goals and J. Forsyth one. The visitors were entertained at afternoon tea in the schoolroom by the ladies of Pihama. Sir. V. Warner capably controlled the game.
