ATTACK ON TSINANFU
PLANNED BY SOUTHERNERS. JAPANESE ALLEGATIONS. DEFENCE FORCE AT TIENTSIN. (AUSTRALIAN PRESS ASSOCIATION.) (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC (UNITED SERVICE.) Received 12.20 p.m., to-day. SHANGHAI, Alay 14. Conclusive proof that the Southerners planned the Tsinanfu attack is alleged to have been discovered by Japanese military in the shape oi the minutes of the final meeting of Chiaug Kaishek and liis staff officers, prior to launching the attack. The most important items are:—(l) “In the event oi; Japanese presenting unreasonable demands, Southerners shall cope with them by force of arms. (2) “Generalissimo Chiaug Kaishek shall not reply immediately to any Japanese ultimatum, but delay in order to prepare counter measures.
The discovery was reported by a Japanese news agency. T,he commanders of the International forces at Teintsin have agreed on the measures to he adopted. The plan covens the stationing of a cordon seven miles in radius outside the city. Japan igi entrusted with the most important foreign properties. America has four, France three, and Britain one thousand troops oceupyingTeintsin. There are a iscore of aeroplanes and five tanks.
