* Otakeho. Dear Smile Queen, —Just a lew lines hoping you are quite well. I tried mv kite, and it was a great success. We have had iery rough weather lately. We are haviiig a fancy-dress bal] on the 18th of this month. J might be going to one of the- practices to-mor-row. We have started basket-ball at school now. We have got the cows on once a day now. Dear Smile Queen. —1 was going to write, last Saturday, but f forgot to. 1 am nine years old and in standard two, and my little brother is in primmer three. I will be in standard three next year, if I don’t fail. We have had very cold weather lately. Mum’s little Persian cat has one little kitten and it died. On the 3rd of this month we broke up for our holidays. After the holidays there is someone coining to stay here. We have a canary, and its name is Dick. On the 18th there is a fancy-dress ball, and 1 am going in fancy-dross, and my brother is going in one too. There is also one in Manaia on the 25th of May. Now I will close. From Ngaire Woods.

Rural Mail, Oeo. Dear Smile Queen. —Our school holidays have commenced, much to my delignt. I am going away for a week's holiday. I noticed a good few letters in Saturday’s pap-. 0. 1 wonder if there wii' he many letters m the paper in the holidays. Ham you got many flowers iii the Castle garden. Wo have moved from our old homo, as you will sco by the address. ] have made a girl friend in N.Z., Matty Duckett. Isho is very nice. 1 have just had, a latter from her. I wrote to a little girl named Dena Stone, but have not had an answer yet. Last Monday 1 fel 1 down and sprained my ankle, and shall leave to lie on tho oouch all day.
