North and South Matches OPUNAKE AND OKAIAWA WIN KAPONGA BEATS WAIMATE FOUR GAMES IN NORTHERN DIVISION Played in beautiful weather, the second series of games in the Taranaki Rugby Union senior competition wero viewed by largo crowds at, the various centres on Saturday. In tlic south, Kaponga, by accounting for Waimate in an eleven to nil victory proved tlic only club to repeat the previous Saturday’s success. Hawcra, which had secured a win against Waimate, met defeat in a 17 to 13 game at the hands of Okaiawa, while the Patea Blues, who last f-aturuay defeated the divisional champions, were beaten 14—6 by the Opunake team, which was making" its first appearance of the season. In the north the champions, Stratford, scored another runaway victory, defeating Okato by 22 to nil; Star and Inglewood continued in winning vein by scoring over Elthani and Tukapa respectively, and Clifton accounted for Old Boys. The afternoon also brought into action the Saturday junior clubs which met in the first of the season’s series.
