SHEEP DOG TRIALS

HAW ERA CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. A fair attendance of members was present at tlio annual meeting oi the Egniont Sheep Dog Trial Club, held oh Saturday evening, Mr. H. R. Scott (president) being in the cliair. The annual report of the president was as follows: This year* has again been highly successful. Our accumulated funds now stand at £B4 9s t>d, which is evidence that the finances of the club are in a very healthy state. The receipts show an increase of £2O over last year, while our payments have also increased. Special attention is drawn to the donation of £ls 11s lOd which was made to Miss Corrigan for the dfferent movements with which she is so actively connected. I _ feel that the club is in a splendid position to undertake the work of running the championship meeting of the North Isl--to be held) here next year. During the year one l of our most enthusiastic supporters, Mr. Oswald Dunlop, was removed by death. To his relatives we extend our deepest sympathy. The statemetn of receipts and expenditure showed that the principal receipts had been, as below: Entries £33 17s, members’ fees, £24 10s. donations £23 ss, catering £lB _ 12sy 9d, sweepstakes £lO 7s 6d, weight judging £7 2s, sundries £5 6s. Expenditure: Prizes- £54 Is, advertising £/ 7s 6d, judge £3, printing £4 17s 6d. honorarium £lO, donations £ls 11s lOd, tents £2 17s 6d, labour £3, petty expenses £9 9s 9d-; leaving a credit balance of £l2 15s 2d. The honorary treasurer (Mr. T. J. Salmon), referring to the statement, said that several expenses would not he recurring, and it had to he noted that donations had been made to Miss Corrigan covering two years. £9 and £6, and that the profit would have been otherwise about £33. The accumulated funds now totalled £B4 9® 6d. ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

Corrigan, AV. B. Grant, R. Hicks, Mark Trott, Mrs. R. Hicks. Air. Crighton was voted an honorarium of £1 Is. GENERAL. It was stated by Mr. J. Lind in connection with the preparations for the championship meeting at Hawera, that the Eltham-Takou Club was prepared to donate the sum of ten guineats towards the expenses. The opinion was expressed by one of the officials of that club that it would he advisable to make a bond of co-operation amongst the Taranaki Clubs to help one" another in such cases.

It was resolved to send a lotted of thanks to Mrs. H. R.. Scott and Al.r. C. S. Hay, the judge, for their valuable service® and express thanks to _ the Press and also to the many willing helpers who did so much for the club.
