PRINCE CAROL.
PROMISES PIJLL' STATEMENT SOON. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.! LONDON, May- 4. Prince Carol 'broke the carefully Guarded silence upon 'his attitude towards the Rumanian throne by asserting in a special interview that it was a downright lie that he left his country because of Madame Lupeseu. In a few davs he would come out into the open with a full, frank statement. Madame Lupeseu was a very .good friend, but she was not associated with his departure from the country. 'He 'had been wickedly misrepresented m the foreign Press, but was confident ot fair play in England. Pressed on several occasions for an authoritative statement on his position in regard to the monarchy, he answered- t‘ ‘ Novel' miiiid. I '(-a.it wait. >' want my son to go to an English school. It is no good having him cooped up m his own country without an opportunity for a broader outlook.' Madame Lupeseu i s staying at the same house, but ir is hard to estimate the influence she wields over Prince Carol, as she remains in the back-o-i-ound reticent and inscrutable.
