HOCKEY.
THE CATR.AN GUP. OOAIMITTEE’S ANNUAL MEETING. Interesting work in connection with hockey was -done at the annual meetng of the Gatra-n Hockey pup committee, Air. D l . Burgess presiding. The statement of accounts showed a credit of £4 on the last June 3 tournament. It was unanimously decided to •■un the- Outran Gup tournament at Hawera. on June 3. The following officials were elected : Tournament- manager, Mr. D. Burgess ; secretaries, Misses D. Clement and K. Petersen; treasurer, Air. S. Oa trail; committee, all present with the addition of the Misses G. McGlaslian, A. Shannon, A- Reynolds. It was resolved to open a hanking account, with Mis-s D. Clement- and Mr. 3. Oat-ran as trustees, Miss T. Clement ,vas added as a Hawera High School delegate. Arrangements were made in connection with the hockey grounds for the season.
The action of the Hockey Association in omitting to reply to- the application from the- committee for permission to run the tournament was adversely criticised, and it was decided ) write the association on the matter. A vote of thanks to the chair and committee concluded the- meeting.
