BAPTIST SUNDAY SCHOOL
TEA AND CONCERT.
A PLEASANT FUNCTION. Last- evening the child,ren and teachers of the Baptist Sunday School sat down to a tea provided by the ladies of the church. This function was followed by a. concert at which large numbers of parents and friends were .present. .
The excellent programme which was provided by the children delighted the audience. The pastor. Rev. R. L. Furs don. occupied the chair. The opening item was an anniversary chorus by the children, and was followed by a prayer, after which excellent items, were contributed by thp following: Three action isongs and a. dramatisation of the parable, of the “Good Samaritan.” supervised by the primary department, Nola Nietlio, Winnie Barker, Joan Moore., Fred Breitt, Kenneth Brett, Raymond Howells, V-idtor 1 Howells and Jack Tapp (recitations); so',o by Francis Shackle ton; action songs bv the Misses W. Barker, K. Trim, AI. Horner, J. Paice; two-part songs by ithe senior girls and a very humorous item bv ten boys, entitled “Tbn Little Ni ggor Boys,” which, being rendered in costume, caused a. good deal of laughter. Interspersed through the programme were several of the .anniversary hymns sung by the children. The .secretary’s and treasurer’® report® were, presented by Air (superintendent) and Miss Biatl'and (secretary), which, showed the good, work done during the past year. The prizes gained by the .scholars for good conduct a.nd_attendance were presented by Airs R. U. Fnrsdon. The evening’s programme was brought to an end by the singing of a hymn and the pronouncement of ithe benediction.
