MANAIA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) HOCKEY. The first game of the -season will be played at the Alanaia Domain on Wednesday, Alay 2, at 2 p.m., when Otakeho and Alanaia try conclusions. The Manaia team (green-, and gold) will • selected from the following: Sutton,, Symmans, Tosswell, Hickey, Ansley, Davis, Duncan, Paine, Winks, Budd, Manley, Simmons, Vine, HRI, Ferguss. Referee: Mr. T. Alilier. A practice for members and intending members of the ladies’ club will be held on Wednesday. The selectors will then pick the -team to represent Alanaia. a-t- Hawera- seven-a'-side- tourney on Alay 9. GENERAL.
It has been decided during the winter season to hold social evenings in connection with St. Cuthbert’s Guild, to be held at the various parishoners’ residences. Otn Wednesday night the first will be held at Mr. P. E. Hammond’s residence in Alanaia. _ Tlie bq-x of chocolates competition in connection with the Alanaia Plunlcet Society was won by Master Alister AlcLeod.
