BERLIN, April 28. . “Britain has no right to in ten ere with the independence which we already enjoy,” said the Prime" Minister of Egypt, Nahas Pasha, when interviewed by the Cairo correspondent of the “Vossische Zeitung.” | “Our standpoint simply is that we were never part of the British Empire and have no wish to be,” continued Nahas Pasha. “We have the liest intentions towards Britain, but we will not sacrifice the independence ol Egypt to her imperialistic tendencies. “W’e cannot accept the treaty as proposed by Britain because it is rounded: on an entirely false basis as between mistress and servant. The only possible treaty is one of equals.” THE ASSEMBLIES BILL. (AUSTRALIAN PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CAIRO, April 28. After a speech to-cla.v by Nahas Pasha, a meeting of the Wald memliers of Parliament endorsed the Government’s policy regarding the Assemblies Bill which it is expected to pass ear,y next week. The British attitude towards the new law is that it is calculated to endanger British lives by giving latitude to armed mobs. .
