SUPPORT FOR. MOTHERS’ UNION. (BY TELEGRAPH—CRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, April 28. Tire Anglican Synod to-clay elected the standing commission as follows: ’Pb|3 Primate, Archbishop Averill, Archdeacon Williams, Archdeacon Simkin, Messes Junks and Hogben. Theisie were the only nominees. A memorial from the Dominion Council cf the Mothers’ Union was presented and the resolutions .attached were carried, these being:

(1) That an expression of sympathy with the objects of the Mothers’ Union :>e recorded, especially in its endeavour to create a healthier home life. (2) That apprehension be expressed at the increase in the number of divorces in New Zealand, and thaf a protest be entered against the extension of any further facilities for divorce. (3) That the age of marriage, now 14 for boys and 12 for girls, be raised to 16 for both isexos. (4) That .these resO'utions be conveyed to the Prime Minister.
