SPORTS EDITION

1928 PUBLICATION STARTS TO-NIGHT, . AI.L THE HAY’S RESULTS. “The Hawera Star’’ Sports Edition enters upon its third season with the publication of to-day’s issue, the first of the 1928 winter sports season. This special Saturday evening paper requires no introduction to our readers in South Tarajnaki whom it has served well in the past by supplying all sporting results, local, provincial and Dominion-wide, within two or three hours of the conclusion of the events. An organisation similar to that which worked so well in 1926 and 1927 has been set in train for the reporting of football matches and other events and for the rapid transmission of the news to this office. The paper will be available on tlie streets of Hawera before 8 p.m. The quick delivery system by the “Star” service cars of last year will be maintained, and is being extended from Patea to include Waverley, where the edition will be available before nine o-clock. In the other centres, Normanby, Eltham, Stratford, Kaponga, Okaiawa, and Manaia, readers will as previously be able to obtain copies within a short time of publication.
