DRAMATIC SUICIDE.

Captain Alic Benfoe, an ex-New Zealander, who had lived in Paris since the war, committed suicide by jumping from the Arc de Triomphe. He was killed instantly. He was the son of an ex-French consul at Wellington and was educated at King’s College, Auckland. He served in France with one of the Otago, regiments. He inherited some money from his father, but the will was the subject of litigation. His mother expressed the opinion that he committed suicide dramatically in order to draw attention to the litigation. He leaves a widow and one child.
